SO WHAT IS FAITH?
The Holy Bible says in Hebrews 11:1“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” Dictionary.com says “faith is confidence or trust in a person or thing, belief that is not based on proof, belief in God or in the doctrines or teachings of religion” Faith is a noun and also a verb. So you have to believe in “something” and take action upon your beliefs.
My good friend Greg has a saying that is appropriate to illustrate faith and belief systems. Greg says, “I believe I will have another drink (LOL) and then he takes actions he goes to the refrigerator knowing that a drink is in there, he reaches in and pulls out a cold one, he open it and then proceeds to drink it and enjoy the blessing of his refreshment. Faith is just that, believing and knowing that God is real, that we can reach out to God in prayer and He hears us, that as we meditate on His word day and Night, He changes us to be more like Him. As we drink from His cup, we receive the refreshment from the Holy Spirit that strengthens us, encourages us and changes a cold hard heart to be filled with love, joy and peace with compassion for others.
As a believer (faithful follower) in Jesus Christ (Yeshua) we also must believe in the person born by the Holy Spirit (Jesus Christ) and Water (Mary) aka, Yeshua-(Savior). Then take actions to obey His words and teachings in the Torah and Holy Bible and apply into your life so that you change from the inside out. Faith is allowing your beliefs and trust to give you hope and confidence in your future (Jer 29:11) The whole bible is true, remember God is the same yesterday, today and forever more and His love, mercies and grace endure forever to those who put their trust and belief (FAITH) in ElOHIM/ADONAI/YHWH and the many other names that display His characteristics.
In John 3, Nicodemus, a Rabbi in the Aaronic Law asked how does a man become born again. Jesus explains to him the story of believing in faith in Him, like Moses who lifted the serpent staff and those who believed survived, so shall the Son of Man be lifted up and those who believe in Him will have eternal life. Now everyone knows this verse from that conversation but look how it really flows afterwards. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
Do not just sit and watch the game of life as a spectator, it is God’s intent and design for each one of us to play a part on His team. Some of us the gift of mercy, of teaching, administration, financially blessed to give and so many ways we each fit together as ONE BODY UNDER CHRIST!
GET IN THE GAME! There are too many people that are hurting, sick or discourage who need your compassion, hope and confidence. By believing in prayer, fasting, reading the word and share your beliefs by testify along with the word about what good things God has done for you.
TRUST – BELIEVE – TAKE ACTION FOR THIS IS TRUE FAITH THAT WILL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
JOHN 3 (NKJV)
1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, “How can these things be?”
10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
