May Look Good but It Sure Is Bad For You

It is important to understand truth and apply it into your life to help discern what is right and wrong.  Often we can misplace our hope and confidence into things such as our job, our family and even our own customized belief systems.  We do things based on the way we feel instead of on a standard of morality and values.   If it feels good do it, right?  If its not hurting someone else, its all good, right?  Wrong.  Sin is hurting someone else and even causing them to die without God for all eternity.

God tells us that He is a spirit to be worship in spirit and in truth.  Without the absolute truth as the underlying “BELT” holding your whole life together, it is easy to fall prey to the enemy.  Satan is deceitful and walks about LIKE a roaring lion 1 Peter 5:8 “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour”, in other words, he wraps up sin so at first it is beautiful with lies that imitate the truth. A marriage built on feelings will never last but a marriage based on commitment to each other and respect will.  You see,  the truth in the bible involves self sacrifices in every area of your life to deny the flesh and do the right thing.  Hebrews 3:13″But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”

Therefore, let us be careful where we place our hope and confidence in things, people and even religions.  Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:24“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock”  S0 what is Jesus talking about here as the foundation?  Christianity was not even a thought at this time among men, so where did Jesus teach from and the truth was found?   In the Torah, the Jewish bible.   Jesus (Yeshua meaning salvation) was born as a Jewish man to save all mankind thus fulfilling the truthful covenant with Abraham that from his seed will spring forth the children of God. Through Jesus we are adapted into this truth found in the Old Testament combined with the New Testament to make a whole truth.  Jesus did not destroy the law but He fulfilled it and by His victory over this world, He now can help deliver us.  Jesus was an example we should imitate and follow as how to stand on the truth, give unto God what is Gods and be compassionate for others.

The truth is that mankind is born into a sinful world desiring the beautiful gifts wrapped up by our senses like that first taste of alcohol on a stressful day, the high feeling from drugs, the allure of the opposite sex that is not your spouse, the sweet taste of unhealthy foods and so many other ways.  These things seem harmless enough but once you indulge, they lead to overdose, drunkenness, adultery and divorce and many other bad things.  So if you learn to control your self by basing your beliefs in truths so at the beginning of trials and tests you can overcome.

Be confident in God and His teachings to carry you through this life and into all eternity.   For when you know with blessed assurance that Jesus  is yours then truly death will lose its stink and the grave will lose its victory.   God has set you free to live an abundant life filled with peace, joy, love, hope, kindness and such so we can appreciate  Him for the rest of forever.

Matthew 22:16 They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are.

Mark 12:14 They came to him and said, “Teacher, we know that you are a man of integrity. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay the imperial tax to Caesar or not?

Luke 20:21 So the spies questioned him: “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.
